Captains

Instructions

Set up your ZRL team in order: create team → paste WTRL roster → (optional) Chrome extension → save season & load race calendar → availability → results.

1. Create your team

  1. Register a captain account and verify your email.
  2. Sign in and create a team (pick the display name you want).
  3. Open the team page. You get a public link and a rider availability link automatically. If the roster is empty, a setup popup asks you to paste your WTRL My Teams page.

2. Paste WTRL roster (first)

  1. Open WTRL My Teams and open your team.
  2. Select the full page (team header + all riders) and copy.
  3. Paste in the setup popup (or Paste WTRL page on the Team tab) and click Sync pasted roster.

This fills division, season, TRC Ref, jersey, rounds, and riders. Works on phone and desktop — no cookie or extension needed. Your team display name stays as you created it. Phenotypes and power peaks come from ZwiftPower once you connect that under Team settings.

Tip: INVITED riders often have no CP curve on ZwiftPower yet, so type / 15s / 5min may stay empty until they race. Categories and MEMBER/INVITED come from WTRL, not from ZwiftPower.

2b. Optional: Chrome extension (1-click sync)

Desktop power users can connect a WTRL login session for Results sync and 1-click roster import. Under Team settings → WTRL connect:

  1. Download ZRL Captain Sync (.zip) and unpack it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click Load unpacked and select the zrl-captain-sync folder.
  4. Stay logged in at WTRL My Teams and at ZRL Captain → open the extension → Connect WTRL → ZRL Captain.

Reconnect if Sync says unauthorized (WTRL logout or cookie expiry after ~7 days). Without the extension, keep using paste for roster and week results.

3. Save season & load race calendar

  1. Check Season and Division (usually filled from the WTRL paste). The division letter (A/B/C/D) matters for route length and FAL/FTS.
  2. Fill the required fields: Round, # Races, and Timeslot (e.g. 19:00 Amsterdam).
  3. Click Save season & load race calendar. That saves your settings and pulls Race #1…#N from the current ZwiftInsider round (URL set by the site admin, e.g. zrl-r20).

Each race gets date, format, distance, elevation, FAL/FTS segments, and the route profile. You do not need to find the ZwiftInsider link yourself. On the Races tab you can reload the calendar later, or add a race manually if you want.

4. Availability & race week

  • Share the rider availability link so riders mark Yes / Maybe / No per race.
  • Or edit availability yourself in the roster (handy after a Discord poll).
  • Use Injured for riders who are out.
  • Open a race plan → Select best riders for this race (you or AI: availability + race fit + fair turns) → generate AI tactics. You can regenerate with feedback or clear and start over.
  • Under AI tactics, paste the weekly ZwiftInsider race tips URL (e.g. zwiftinsider.com/zrl-r20-w1/) and summarize it. The summary appears publicly under AI tactics for your riders.

5. Standings & results

Two ways after race day:

  1. Paste (always works): open the public results page on wtrl.racing, copy the League / Overall table (and optionally the Race table), paste under Paste week results on the Results tab.
  2. Sync (extension connected): use Sync results on the Results tab — pulls League / Race / Segments for the selected calendar race via your saved WTRL session.

Check the tables, then Share with team so riders see them on the public link.
